October is Hill Country Night Sky Month
Hill Country Night Sky Month is a celebration of one of our region’s most dazzling features — the star-filled night sky — and a time to recognize the many ways Hill Country communities are working to preserve it.
September 27th - October 3rd
Special night sky related stories at the Patrick Heath Public Library Children's Corner Facebook Page.

October 1st: Harvest Moon
Before you head outside to enjoy the Harvest Moon, here are some fun activities for the kids! (Or young at heart.)
Please share your creations with us!
October 15th: Thirst for Nature-Star Party!
Join astronomers and Kendall County Friends of the Night Sky for some socially distant stargazing! Local astronomers Jack Estes, John Connors, and Tim Boller will show off the sparkling celestial objects above with laser pointers and live images broadcast from a telescope on site. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to breathe the fresh air and gaze at the universe!!

October 17th: Lights Out Boerne
On the night of the New Moon, we are encouraging everyone to turn off their outdoor lights and enjoy the wonders of a star filled sky!
As an added bonus, all across Boerne, restaurants will help celebrate by having “dinners by candlelight/starlight” for all of those who seek a wonderful date night under the stars. A list of participating restaurants will be available on our Facebook event.
